Arabian solitaire is a fortune-telling card spread rooted in the tradition of geomantic solitaire - using a shuffled and dealt deck to answer a specific question. The Arabic variant has its own layout rules and its own interpretive logic, drawing on a tradition of card-reading that moved through Ottoman and Middle Eastern folk practice. Unlike Western playing-card fortune-telling, it treats suits and number combinations as relational rather than isolated - what the cards mean depends on what falls beside them.

How it works

Shuffle and deal a standard deck according to the Arabian solitaire layout. The spread uses a specific grid arrangement where cards are read in relation to adjacent cards, not in isolation. Pairs, triplets, and diagonal sequences all carry meaning. The tool handles the deal and layout automatically - your job is to hold your question before you begin.

Understanding your result

The reading covers the current situation, the hidden factor (what's influencing events but not visible), the near future, and the outcome. Suit combinations matter more than individual card meanings in this system: clubs around hearts shifts the love reading; spades cutting across a club run signals interruption or opposition. The oracle interprets the full pattern, not just the prominent cards.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of questions does Arabian solitaire work best for?

Concrete questions about near-future situations - business, relationships, travel, decisions within the next few months. Open philosophical questions don't land as well as specific situations.

Can I redo the reading for the same question?

Once per question session is traditional. Redoing the deal because you didn't like the result doesn't change the situation - it just produces noise.

Is this the same as standard French playing-card cartomancy?

Related but distinct. Arabian solitaire has its own layout rules and combination-reading logic that differs from both Gypsy cartomancy and standard French playing-card traditions.

Is this for entertainment?

Yes - and self-reflection. We offer it as a divination tool in the folk tradition, not as a forecast service.
