Your natal chart is the map of the sky at the exact moment you were born - not a personality quiz, not a type. It's a diagram that shows where every planet was, which house it occupied, and how the planets were angled to each other. Two people born on the same day in different cities have different charts. Two people born at the same time and place have identical charts but live them differently. The chart doesn't determine your life; it describes the energetic weather you started in.

How it works

Enter your birth date, time, and city. The calculator generates your full natal chart: the wheel showing all 12 houses, planetary positions with sign placements, and major aspect lines. The detailed reading covers your sun, moon, and rising signs, the planets in each house, and the major aspects between them. Birth time affects house cusps and the ascendant significantly - if you don't know your exact time, a 12:00 noon default gives you approximate positions.

Understanding your result

The chart has three main layers. First: the planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) - each governs a sphere of life. Second: the signs - the quality and style with which each planet expresses. Third: the houses - the area of life where that energy plays out. Aspects (conjunctions, squares, trines, oppositions) show where planetary energies cooperate or tension. The reading synthesizes these into a coherent picture, not a list of isolated facts.

Frequently asked questions

How important is the exact birth time?

Very. The ascendant (rising sign) changes approximately every two hours, and the house cusps shift with it. If your time is off by an hour, the house placements may be inaccurate. Check your birth certificate if you're unsure.

What's the difference between this and a sun-sign horoscope?

A sun-sign horoscope covers one placement. Your natal chart covers all ten planets, 12 houses, and dozens of aspects between them. It's an order-of-magnitude more information.

Is the natal chart reading a prediction?

No. The natal chart describes tendencies and patterns - the energetic landscape you were born into. It doesn't predict specific events or outcomes.

Can I save my chart?

Your chart generates each time you enter your data. For a saved profile with ongoing transits and progressions, a Moonbeam subscription stores your chart and updates it over time.
